Quand j’ai demandé à Christine Boiry, Julie Brooke, Peter De Lorenzo et Bogumila Strojna de me rejoindre pour cette exposition, j’étais consciente de la longue alliance des artistes australiens et français autour de l’art non-objectif. Cette alliance s’est renforcée à chaque exposition, avec de nouvelles amitiés, de nouveaux savoirs et de nouveaux dialogues. Tous les artistes qui se retrouvent pour l'exposition « Les Alliances » n’avaient pas encore exposé ensemble. Cependant, ils participent à un dialogue régulier sur les médias sociaux et, par ce groupe, présentent en écho des affinités nouées de longues dates. Ces artistes sont tous liés par un fort intérêt pour la forme, la couleur et les matériaux.

When I asked Christine Boiry, Julie Brooke, Peter De Lorenzo and Bogumila Strojna to join me in this exhibition, I was mindful of the long-standing alliance between Australian and French artists working in the reductive non-objective genre. With each exhibition the alliance grows stronger with new friendships, knowledge and dialogues. Not all of the artists in this exhibition have exhibited together before. However, they are part of the ongoing dialogue on social media and, within the group, there are a series of long-standing alliances. All the artists are united by a strong interest in form, space, colour and material.
